Hoshi Ryokan, The Oldest Hotel in the World

According to Guinness World Records, Hoshi is the oldest inns or hotels in the world located in the Awazu Onsen, Komatsu Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. The hotel was founded in 717 and is run continuously by one family for 46 generations. This inn has 100 guest rooms and a 'hanare' (sanctum guests). There are two warm bathroom devoted to the men and women. Two family bathrooms can also be special ordered by the guests.

One night in the Hoshi Ryokan is around USD 350 per person including breakfast and dinner. They also offer activities such as tea ceremony or guided tour around the area. The best things that they offer are a hot water bath, known in Japan as an Onsen. Onsen in Japan, usually women and men bathe separately, but there are some traditional Onsen in which every person, male and female, bathing together in the "pool".

There are also large rooms with Japanese nuanced and enough for four people. For relaxation, guests can get a 'yukata' and is also available cotton kimono dress when finished bathing. This inn offers breakfast and dinner as the guest desires, whether they are vegetarian or who do not eat pork.
